More than 1,400 employees from 70 branches will be out in force
ORANGE COUNTY, California (April, 2017) – In its 8th year with the U.S. Bank OC Marathon and 4th year as title sponsor, U.S. Bank is rolling out a massive presence at the event — the company’s largest yet. Over 1,400 U.S. Bank employees will participate as runners or as volunteers for many of the event’s activities: the obesity-fighting Kids Run the OC, the 11th-Mile Water Station, and the OC Lifestyle & Fitness Expo. U.S. Bank has also entered a team in this year’s new Corporate Challenge in which companies vie for the crown in one of two categories: the Fittest Firm and the Most Philanthropic Firm.

U.S. Bank employees also host a huge booth at the OC Lifestyle & Fitness Expo. “There is so much energy at that booth,” says Carl Jordan, U.S. Bank Region Manager. “It’s all about the power of possible. Realizing the power you have to make things possible.”
At this year’s booth prizes will be given away like a 2018 U.S. Bank OC Marathon entry fee, Jabra Wireless Headphones and other trinkets just for stopping by. A large photo booth with props will be a draw for runners eager to get that social-media-worthy shot with the U.S. Bank OC Marathon logo. Additionally, U.S. Bank will once again present a check for $1,000 to a randomly selected school participating in the Kids Run the OC event.
Jordan also spoke about the level of commitment he sees in his employees who arrive in droves at 3:00 in the morning to start setting up the 11th-Mile Water Station at University and Irvine, then stay all day passing out water and cheering on the runners who pass.
Known as one of the best destination races on the West Coast, the U.S. Bank OC Marathon Running Festival spans Friday, May 5 through Sunday, May 7 and expects more than 30,000 attendees, 2,500 volunteers, and thousands of course spectators. The event draws runners of all fitness levels and features diverse terrain, changing vistas and majestic ocean views. Starting in Newport Beach, runners cross Irvine and Santa Ana before ending at the Ultimate Finish Line Festival at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa.
