Santa Barbara, California — In honor of the city’s iconic marathon, two California brands—apparel manufacturer rabbit and sunglass company goodr—are embarking on a cross country journey to Boston, where they will host up a pop up shop at 211 Newbury Street from April 12th to 17th. There, runners and fans can shop from a selection of limited-edition, race inspired merchandise as well as an assortment of the latest and greatest from these two up and coming brands.
“Boston provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the whole marathon world to have a bit of a family reunion and we just couldn’t pass up the chance to see so many of our friends all in one place” observed rabbit co-founder Monica DeVreese, who will be racing the Boston Marathon for the ninth time. In addition to retailing, the shop will serve as home base for the BOSTONrabbit team, which includes more than 125 runners who will be tackling the race on Monday the 16th.
The pop up will also be home to several fun events over the weekend. On Saturday at 3pm, Altra will host a shakeout run from the shop and afterwards will raffle off a pair of their Boston-edition Escalantes, part of a sweet prize package that will also contain products from goodr and rabbit. The good folks from Feetures will be there too, tempting runners to upgrade their sock game. On Sunday at 9am, rabbit, goodr and HOKA ONE ONE will host a pre-race shakeout run with refreshments and more prizes to follow. The store will be closed on Monday, but will re-open on Tuesday for all those folks who wouldn’t dream of buying any race gear before they cross the finish line. Full store hours can be found here.
