DALLAS (June 15, 2016) — Organizers of the 2016 BMW Dallas Marathon today announced the second season of the RunDallas Race Series in partnership with FC Dallas, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Mavericks. The RunDallas Race Series was created in 2015 to further the promotion of health and fitness in the North Texas community through running and physical activity, a mission collectively shared by each of the participating organizations.
“We are excited to welcome back FC Dallas, the Rangers and the Mavs as partners in the RunDallas Race Series this year. After a successful debut in 2015 that saw many North Texans maintain months-long commitments to their physical fitness, we look forward to growing the race series and enhancing the runner experience at each of these signature events,” said Lisa Croley, chairman of the Dallas Marathon board of directors.
To participate in the 2016 RunDallas Race Series, an individual must complete a series of four races held throughout the calendar year. RunDallas Race Series events include:
- July 9: The FC Dallas Footy 5K and Fun Run presented by VAZATA
- Sept. 4: Rangers Labor Day Weekend Race presented by Medical Center Arlington
- Oct. 6: The Mavs Run This Town 5K
- Dec. 11: BMW Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon or Behringer Relay
The race series culminates in December with the 46th running of the BMW Dallas Marathon. Participants may complete the marathon, half marathon or Behringer relay division of the December 11 event to qualify. Runners that do complete all four RunDallas Race Series events will earn a signature RunDallas Race Series medal, awarded at the BMW Dallas Marathon finish line on Sunday, December 11.
