VeloNews Announces New Podcast Lineup

February 12, 2021

Jens Voigt joins Bobby Julich’s popular weekly cycling show.

Boulder, Colorado — February 12, 2021 — Pocket Outdoor Media (POM), the world’s leading creator of active lifestyle content and experiences, today announced the launch of “Bobby & Jens,” a new weekly podcast from VeloNews featuring conversations with newsmakers from the world of cycling. Co-hosts and former professional teammates Bobby Julich and Jens Voigt bring a unique chemistry and unrivaled insider knowledge to the show from decades of racing, coaching, and commentary at the highest levels in the sport.

The first episode of “Bobby & Jens,” which will be available on VeloNews.com and leading podcast platforms, will debut on February 16, with new episodes dropping every Friday throughout the year’s racing calendar. Highlights from the interviews will also appear weekly on VeloNews.com and bimonthly in VeloNews, North America’s leading magazine for serious fans of cycling news, gear, and technique.

Julich is well-known to VeloNews readers as the creator of its “Put Your Socks On” podcast (PYSO was the predecessor to “Bobby & Jens”) and one of America’s most successful professional cyclists. Bobby J, as he’s known to his friends, won a silver medal in the 2004 Olympics, a podium position at the 1998 Tour de France, and first overall at the Eneco Tour and Paris-Nice. Following his racing career, Julich transitioned to coaching, working with some of the world’s top teams and helping to develop athletes such as Chris Froome and Richie Porte. “I’m really excited to get back in the saddle with Jens,” said Julich. “You never know what he’s going to say, but you always know it will combine real insight along with his trademark humor. Nobody loves this sport more than my old roomie, and our listeners are going to hear that passion every Friday.”

A perennial fan favorite for his aggressive racing style, never-say-die attitude, and quotable nature, Voigt claimed numerous victories during a 20-plus year racing career that included twice wearing the yellow jersey in the Tour de France. As teammates on Team CSC, Voigt and Julich formed a powerful duo, twice winning the LuK Challenge, a two-man team time trial. “Bobby and I are really different personalities,” said Voigt ( known to friends as Jensie), “but we’re really in sync when it comes to the important things in life: fatherhood, marriage, and cycling. I’m looking forward to putting on a great show and spilling some secrets about my old friend.”

“These guys know the sport of cycling like few others from experiencing so many of the highs and lows of training, racing, and coaching,” said Ben Delaney, editorial director of VeloNews. “Like Bobby has been doing with PYSO, they will tap their extensive networks to bring in great guests, from iconic athletes to emerging talents to leading coaches, trainers, and diverse up-and-comers from all corners of the world. We’re thrilled to partner with them to make “Bobby & Jens” a must-listen for cycling fans who love in-depth interviews and inspiring storytelling.”
