March 15, 2022

Individuals and organizations can apply for a USA Triathlon Foundation Pillar Grant program at usatriathlonfoundation.org.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/The USA Triathlon Foundation is accepting grant applications from the triathlon community for 2022. Individuals and organizations can apply for a USA Triathlon Foundation Pillar Grant program at usatriathlonfoundation.org. All proposals are due by April 10, and the USA Triathlon Foundation’s independent grant committee will make selections by May 3.

The USA Triathlon Foundation awards funding to organizations and individuals who support multisport opportunities for youth, adaptive athletes and Olympic/Paralympic hopefuls. In partnership with USA Triathlon, the Foundation has provided more than $1.3 million in grant funding opportunities since its inception in 2014.

One of the Foundation’s most important roles is to support organizations and individuals that open pathways to swim, bike, and run for all,” said Stephen Ban, USA Triathlon Foundation Board of Trustees Chair. “Our grants are designed to do just that.”

“Giving back to the triathlon community, especially in support of our first Pillar–Encourage Youth Participation – is so important to what we do as a Foundation,” said Dr. Gabe Cagwin, President and Chief Advancement Officer of the USA Triathlon Foundation. “Our Board is so passionate about giving back and providing the resources needed for youth to have the opportunities to engage in multisport, and without the support of our generous donors this would not be possible. It’s a lot of fun and exciting to see the impact philanthropy can have on individuals and a community.”

In addition to the Pillar Grants, the USA Triathlon Foundation will again partner with the Dawson family to offer the Bridget Inspires Grant in memory of Bridget Dawson. Bridget was an accomplished age-group athlete and member of Team USA who passed away in 2016. The Bridget Inspires Grant will provide funding to young women pursuing competitive success in triathlon and other multisport endeavors during the 2022 competition year and beyond.

Finally, through the generosity of Sue Reynolds – author of “The Athlete Inside” proceeds from the sales of the book were donated back to the USA Triathlon Foundation.  These funds will provide the funding to support a grant to support adaptive athletes.
