USA Triathlon Board of Directors Elects 2020 Officers

January 27, 2020

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The USA Triathlon Board of Directors today announced the re-election of three of its members to officer seats — Jacqueline McCook as President, Joel Rosinbum as Vice President and Kevin Haas as Treasurer — and the election of Keri Serota as Secretary.

McCook (Bend, Ore.), who extends her role as President, has served on USA Triathlon’s Board of Directors since 2013 as an independent director. She was first elected Vice President in 2018. In June of 2019, she was elected President following the resignation of Barry Siff, who remains on the board as an ex-officio member. McCook also serves on USA Triathlon’s Compensation, International Relations and Marketing Committees, and was a member of the CEO Search Committee in 2017. She was elected the first-ever President of the USA Triathlon Foundation Board of Directors in 2014, serving in that role until 2018.

McCook has more than 30 years of professional experience in consumer-facing strategy, marketing, leadership and operations. She has served in senior executive positions in the consumer foods, retail and restaurant industries, including PepsiCo, YUM! Brands, Diageo and ConAgra Foods. Her professional career also includes the consulting firm, McKinsey & Company; the national retailer, Target; and the investment-banking firm, Morgan Stanley. She received her Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Stanford University, and her Master of Business Administration with honors from the Harvard Business School.

“I am proud to lead such a talented and diverse team as President of the USA Triathlon Board of Directors, and I look forward to our work advancing the strategic vision of the organization during an exciting 2020 Olympic and Paralympic year,” McCook said. “I know Joel and Kevin will continue to excel in their roles, and I am pleased to welcome Keri to the officers’ team for the first time after multiple impactful years on the Board.”

Rosinbum (Austin, Texas) was first elected Vice President in 2019, replacing McCook when she moved into the role of President. He has served on the board since 2015 as an elite athlete representative. Rosinbum is a four-time USA Paratriathlon national champion, the 2015 ITU Aquathlon world champion in the men’s PTS4 division, a two-time ITU Paratriathlon World Cup medalist, and the 2017 Edmonton ITU World Paratriathlon Series bronze medalist. He has held a number of leadership roles on the board, including chair of both USA Triathlon’s Athlete Advisory Committee (AAC) and Nominating & Governance Committee.

Haas (Berkeley, Calif.), re-elected as Treasurer, has been a member of the Board since 2013 as the Pacific Region representative. He previously served as the Collegiate Committee Chair, Conference Commissioner for the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Conference and President of the UC-Berkeley Triathlon Team. Haas holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UC-Berkeley, has worked in research and development for Counsyl Inc, and is now the Senior Vice President of Technology at Myriad Genetics, a health technology company specializing in evaluating risk for cancer.

Serota (Chicago, Ill.), who first joined the Board in 2018 as the Mideast Region Representative, was newly elected as Secretary. Serota is the co-founder, executive director and a coach of the Chicago-based Dare2tri, one of the nation’s largest paratriathlon clubs. She is a USA Triathlon-certified race director, Level I certified coach and the Vice Chair of the USA Triathlon National Paratriathlon Committee. Serota has a passion for adaptive sports and has built her career on supporting athletes of all ages, abilities and experience levels. She has guided for athletes with disabilities in multiple marathons and triathlons.
