The Trans-Texas Virtual Run is Back for 2021 with Two Additional Distance Challenges and More Ways to Participate

January 20, 2021

Houston, TexasTrail Racing Over Texas (TROT), the largest trail racing company in Texas and host of the epic Trans-Texas Virtual Run announces that Trans-Texas is back and is better than ever. The 2021 version of this event adds a new “River to River” (North to South) route and The Texas Two Step Challenge for individuals and teams that complete the classic “East to West” route and the new “River to River” route. If that wasn’t enough, athletes and teams can participate in either run/walk/hike or multi-sport categories to give everyone an opportunity to participate. Registration is open now and the event begins on February 1, 2021.

“We are very excited to be bringing back the Trans-Texas Challenge,” says race director Rob Goyen. “The race was a lot of fun in 2020 and we think that athletes will enjoy the new distance options, the new multi-sport category, and our upgraded mileage reporting for our virtual leaderboard and distance tracker.”

The charity partner for the Trans-Texas Virtual Run is True Messages. This organization was established to support of the indigenous Raramuri (Tarahumara) peoples of the Sierra Tarahumara. With the community struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, True Messages began working in earnest to provide needed supplies to the Raramuri.

Registration for the 2021 Trans-Texas Virtual Run is open now and individuals and teams have until the end of 2021 to complete either the 879 mile “East to West” route, the new 634 mile “River to River” route, or the epic 1,513 mile Texas Two Step Challenge. All participants will receive a bib, tri-blend gender-specific shirt, a course map and sticker when they register and a custom finisher’s medal when they complete the challenge. Texas Two Step finishers will receive a bonus medal.
