The Beach Boys 5K & Wellness Day Brings Runners to Santa Monica For a Celebration of Wellness, Music & Community

Iconic Artists Group and Mascot Sport Produced The Inaugural Event on The Third Street Promenade, Where Co-Founder Mike Love Helped Celebrate The Legacy of The Beach Boys with a Day of Fitness, Music and “Good Vibrations”.
Santa Monica, CA (May 20, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The inaugural THE BEACH BOYS 5K & WELLNESS DAY brought together runners, walkers, wellness enthusiasts, families and music fans from across the world on May 16 for a one-of-a-kind celebration inspired by the timeless spirit of The Beach Boys. Held in the heart of Santa Monica on the iconic Third Street Promenade, the event—produced by Iconic Artists Group and Mascot Sports—welcomed hundreds of participants and spectators for a full day of movement, mindfulness and music.
The Beach Boys chief lyricist and founding member Mike Love attended the event onsite. During the morning’s opening festivities, he was presented with a special dedication ceremony honoring the 60th anniversary of the legendary Pet Sounds album, as well as the band’s cultural legacy and deep connection to California. Immediately following the dedication, Love led a special pre-race meditation at the start line, bringing a moment of mindfulness and positivity to kick off the day.
A devoted practitioner of Transcendental Meditation for nearly six decades, Love was initiated into TM by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Paris in December 1967. He has practiced TM every day for more than 45 years, crediting it with giving him rest, relaxation, clarity and energy to sustain a life of constant touring, rehearsing and performing — making the pre-race meditation a natural extension of his long-standing commitment to wellness.
For more than 60 years, The Beach Boys have personified and shared the California Dream and Endless Summer spirit embodied in their timeless classics such as “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “I Get Around,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “Surfer Girl,” and more. That same sun-soaked energy came to life throughout the inaugural event experience, from the oceanfront race course to the wellness festival and live entertainment.

The Beach Boys 5K & Wellness Day combined a community 5K run and walk with a wellness-and-pet-themed festival featuring live music, fitness activations, recovery experiences and family-friendly entertainment.
Event highlights included:
● “Fun, Fun, Fun” Runs:
○ The Beach Boys 5K: Participants completed the scenic 3.1-mile course along Ocean Avenue, taking in sweeping ocean views before crossing the finish line at the Third Street Promenade and earning an exclusive finisher medal.
○ Pet Sounds Pooch Run: Dogs and their owners joined the fan-favorite doggy dash, with participating pups receiving their own doggie goodie bag.
● “You’re So Good to Me” Wellness Activations: from guided meditations and stretching to warm-up yoga and cold plunge sessions, guests reset the mind and body with holistic wellness experiences.
● “Don’t Worry Baby” VIP Beer Garden: Guests enjoyed music, DJs, dancing, local beverages and a vibrant festival atmosphere celebrating the soundtrack and spirit of The Beach Boys.
Leading up to race weekend, organizers encouraged participants to prepare for the event through curated wellness initiatives and a custom “Run, Run, Run” Beach Boys 5K Spotify playlist featuring iconic Beach Boys tracks and motivational favorites.
Iconic Artists Group and Mascot Sports partnered with Bravado, Universal Music Group’s brand management and merchandise company, to help bring this event experience to life.
Following the success of the inaugural event, organizers also announced that The Beach Boys Virtual 5K will remain open throughout the remainder of 2026, allowing fans nationwide to participate from anywhere. Virtual participants will receive their own official finisher medal and participant tee while celebrating the spirit of wellness, music and “Good Vibrations” from their local communities.
