November 8, 2022

Technical Footwear Experts Launch long distance style with Pro Runner Dylan Bowman

Portland, Oregon, November 8, 2022 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Developed by industry experts Dave Dombrow and Kevin Fallon and tested by elite trail running athletes, Speedland unveils the GS:TAM, a highly cushioned, customizable shoe designed for maximum performance and comfort over any ultra marathon distance. The shoe features cutting-edge technology and was developed with pro trail runner and Freetrail founder Dylan Bowman to create the optimal trail experience.

The GS:TAM is a tremendously durable, maximally cushioned trail shoe built for longer distance training days and races. Features such as the PerformFitTM Wrap activated by the BOA® Fit System featuring dual-dial Li2, which allows for zonal control and a connected, secure fit. This third commission from Speedland features a unique beaded Pebax outer midsole with a removable, blended Pebax midsole section. Together, the full 37/30 mm midsole stack provides high energy return without sacrificing compression, increasing the lifespan of the shoe far beyond that of standard trail running footwear.

A spacer mesh upper with strategic, high-tenacity fiber reinforcements provides breathability and security over varying terrain, while the Michelin Fiber Lite outsole ensures a sticky grip over any surface. An optional Carbitex GearFlex carbon fiber plate (compatible with all Speedland models) adds propulsion and protection race day, and is sold separately for the ultimate customization.

“Mount Tam is my favorite place to run in the world. It’s where I developed as an athlete during a special part of my professional career, so I feel a deep connection to the area,” said Dylan Bowman, who recently set the Miwok 100k course record in a prototype of the shoe. “As we worked on the design and performance of the shoe, we drew on that inspiration in an attempt to create an amazing product.”

Dave Dombrow, Co-Founder of Speedland, stated, “Like its predecessors, the PDX and HSV, the TAM is made with all the best components and cutting edge technology in the performance space. The TAM was tested over 600 miles, showing minimal signs of compromised performance. That longevity ensures the runner’s value comes first; they can rest assured they are getting the most value out of the best equipment on the market.”

“Exacting precision was given to every detail in the TAM and Dylan’s feedback and experience were an integral part of each function,” said Kevin Fallon, Co-Founder. “As a company, we do not cut corners, there are no compromises and the TAM is a perfect next generation shoe fitting into our mission.”

An endurance athlete living in Marin, California with his home trails on Mt. Tamalpais, Bowman is a top contender in American ultrarunning. Highlights of his career include; placing second in 2021 at Hardrock 100, first at the San Diego 100 mile, and first place (and course record) at the Miwok 100k. Globally, Bowman placed first and broke the course record in the New Zealand Tarawera Ultramarathon, won the Ultra-Trail Australia 100K and the Ultra-Trail Mount Fuji in Japan, finished second in the Ultrarunning World Tour in France and third in the Ultra-Trail World Tour in Spain.

The GS:TAM is available for pre-order on www.runspeedland.com for $275 to customers within the United States, with an expected delivery date of March 2023. The Carbitex plate is sold separately for $35 allowing for additional customization.

Speedland footwear has a direct charitable tie back to its athletes with a portion of all profits from the the TAM going directly to Bowman’s non-profit of choice, Footprints Running.
