Savilia Blunk and Bradyn Lange Take First At 39th Annual Life Time Chequamegon MTB Festival presented by Trek

Cable, Wis., (Sept.17, 2022) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The 2022 Life Time ​​Chequamegon MTB Festival presented by Trek, owned and produced by Life Time (NYSE: LTH), brought 2,800 riders to northern Wisconsin on Saturday. As a family-focused weekend, participants rode one of three distances – Chequamegon 40-miler, Short & Fat 16-miler, or Little Loggers loop. Riders ranged in age from 2 to 80 years old, representing 38 states and 4 countries.

“We enjoyed welcoming all riders and spectators to the Life Time Chequamegon MTB Festival presented by Trek in its 39th year,” said Peter Spencer, Event Manager at Life Time. “The local communities, volunteers and entire race staff were proud to go above and beyond to provide a memorable experience for all who make the trek to revel in the Northwoods of Wisconsin”.

This unique point-to-point course begins in downtown Hayward, Wis. and follows parts of the famed American Birkie Cross-country Ski Trail, taking racers on forest roads and snowmobile trails with short, punchy climbs throughout Sawyer and Bayfield counties to the finish line at the Great Hall in Cable, Wis.

  1. Bradyn Lange, 23, of Prineville, Ore. with a time of 2:05:54
  2. Riley Amos, 20, of Durango, Colo. with a time of 2:05:55
  3. Alexey Vermeulen, 27, of Boulder, Colo. with a time of 2:05:57

Women’s 40-Mile Division Results:

  1. Maria Statz, 38, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. with a time of 2:43:29
  2. Sarah Easton, 32, of Bismarck, N.D. with a time of 2:45:32
  3. Lisa Vetterlein, 48, of Des Moines, Iowa with a time of 2:48:14

Men’s 40-Mile Division Results:

  1. Josh Molnar, 41, of Wayzata, Minn. with a time of 2:24:46
  2. Ian Easton, 42, of Bismarck, N.D. with a time of 2:24:57
  3. Bryan Wenzel, 33, of West Des Moines, Iowa with a time of 2:24:59

Men’s Para-Category 40-Mile Division Results:

  1. Nathin Davisson, 54, of Beloit, Wis. with a time of 3:58:30

The Chequamegon MTB Festival is the fifth event in the Life Time Grand Prix series presented by Mazda. The fifth and final event in the inaugural Grand Prix series will be the Life Time Big Sugar Gravel presented by Mazda in Bentonville, Ark. on Saturday, Oct. 22. At that time, the series winners will be named and the prize purse will be distributed.

Next on Life Time’s off-road cycle race calendar is The Rad Dirt Fest in Trinidad, Colo. on October 8. The Austin Rattler MTB & Run, a Leadville Trail 100 qualifier, will close out the season on November 5.
