Sasquatch Racing to Host Their Next Virtual Running Adventure: The Great Sasquatch Road Trip

December 23, 2020

San Francisco, CA (December 23, 2020) – Sasquatch Racing, the production company behind The Sasquatch Scramble, The Rattlesnake Ramble, and The Krampus Cross Country 5K/10K (& Brewfest) is rolling out their second “Virtual 2.0” event, The Great Sasquatch Road Trip. This virtual running adventure starts on January 11, 2021.

“The Great Sasquatch Road Trip is a sequel/spinoff of sorts to the hugely popular Haunted Bay Area Run Tour,” says Sasquatch Racing race director, Matt Forsman. “This time around, the interactive narrative involves a boy and his dog (a certified ‘squatch sniffer) on a 300+ mile road trip in search of everyone’s favorite, furry cryptid, Sasquatch.”

The virtual road trip starts in Jenner, CA and continues along the Mendocino Coast before veering inland towards Willow Creek, A.K.A. the Bigfoot Capital of the World. The last 100 miles take place on the Bigfoot Highway concluding in Happy Camp, CA. As miles are logged by participants, “Sasquatch hotspots” are unlocked. Many ofthese hotspots are inspired by actual historical reports of Sasquatch sights, sounds, and/or smells in California. Accompanying the hotspots are the next chapters of the interactive narrative of the virtual adventure.

“If you enjoyed ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ books as a kid and have even a vague interest in Bigfoot, our latest virtual running adventure will inevitably strike a chord,” says Forsman. “The best part is that while this adventure is positioned as a ‘running’ event, walkers and hikers are welcomed to join in the fun.”

While there is no requirement to physically go to the locations mentioned in The Great Sasquatch Road Trip, the journey is tied to some wonderful places (Fort Ross State Historical Park, Sea Ranch, and Navarro River Redwoods State Park to name a few) that participants can visit on the Northern California Coast when it is safe to do so. Just report back if there are any ‘squatch sightings.

All adventure participants receive a comfortable, lifestyle-friendly cotton tee and an amazing woodallion from Aravaipa Artworx. Additionally, there will be a private FB group for all road trippers, Zoom happy hours, and weekly email newsletters to keep participants motivated, active, and entertained.

Registration is open now.
