RunSignup | GiveSignup Releases Vouchers to Help Events Migrating to the Platform

February 9, 2021

(Moorestown, NJ)– RunSignup | GiveSignup, the leading technology provider for endurance and nonprofit events in the U.S., has released a new voucher system to help events manage deferrals and credits from 2020. In addition to providing a new participant management option to existing customers, the voucher system allows races that recently moved to the RunSignup | GiveSignup platform to easily fulfill the promises they made to participants last year.

Functionally, the voucher system lets an event send a previous participant a set voucher amount (for example, $30) to use towards any of the events they designate as a part of their voucher pool. Races and other events that are assigned to the same voucher pool can all accept the same vouchers. The participant can then use that voucher towards one registration (the same $30 race that was cancelled in 2020) or multiple events ($20 towards a 5K in March and another $10 off a marathon in July). This feature is free, and there is no processing fee on the voucher portion of the transaction.

The benefit of the voucher system is that it satisfies an event’s promise of deferral or credit immediately regardless of whether the promise was made on RunSignup | GiveSignup or another platform. Additionally, the vouchers provide security compared to coupons that can be misused or abused, while allowing for more flexible credit amounts than a reserved entry. The flexibility created by allowing participants to use their voucher on more than one event also ensures satisfied participants and helps events rebuild trust after a year full of cancellations.

RunSignup | GiveSignup Founder and CEO Bob Bickel said, “With so many events moving to our platform in 2021, we wanted a solution that would make it easier for those events to follow through on their 2020 promises of credit towards future races. The bonus of the voucher system is that it also benefits existing RunSignup customers, making it easier for them to offer flexibility and options to their participants. The ability for participants to use their credit on multiple events will help event organizers to spread out the financial impact of 2020 deferrals and ensures that participants can join an event or events even if their training has changed in the last year.”
