Run Club SF launches first virtual event: I Left My Heart in San F(RUN)cisco.

May 15, 2020

May 15, 2020, San Francisco, CA. Run Club SF is rolling out their very first virtual race, I Left My Heart in San F(RUN)cisco which includes a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon. This event includes access to a virtual training community, shirt and race woodallion for all participants. Runners can participate & submit their results anytime between now and 7/26.

“Historically, the last weekend in July has been a special one for any runner living in the Bay Area. For decades, this weekend has been marked by a celebration of running, a celebration of the incredible running community, and a source of ‘runspiration’ for countless athletes,” says Matt Forsman, owner of Run Club SF. “There’s a huge void this year due to Covid-19 and I want to fill this void (virtually).”

While this race is catered towards SF/Bay Area runners, many athletes make the annual pilgrimage every July to run in San Francisco. This event is for anyone who has run in this amazing city.

All participants in the virtual event get a San Francisco-inspired lifestyle friendly cotton tee and race woodallion from the folks at Elevation Culture as well as virtual access to the Summer Season of Run Club (5/16-7/26) which includes training plans, a private Facebook group, virtual running challenges, Zoom happy hours, and more.

“Community is such a huge part of what running is all about and I’m doing whatever I can to provide it to those who need it, which is pretty much all of us,” says Matt.

I Left My Heart in San F(RUN)cisco also includes ‘The 49er Challenge.’ Knock out a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, AND a FULL Marathon (nearly 49 miles) and you’ll also receive a technical trucker hat and a buff.
