The inaugural race will be called 12 Hours Pensacola and will feature 12 hours of cycling around a half mile banked speedway.

Pensacola is famous for its natural beauty and historic culture. The city is a unique destination where locals and tourists alike find themselves enjoying a vast array of adventures and experiences. Nestled within the history of Pensacola is the 5 Flags Speedway dating back some 68 years to 1953. The track has a long history and an even longer list of auto racing events it has hosted over the years. The Vertigo Challenge will be the first ever cycling event held at the track and opens the door to a unique cycling experience for both the US cycling community and the historic track.

Race Director – Thomas Walls commented on the new event saying, “Rockstar All Access is excited to bring to market the Vertigo Challenge and we look forward to working with existing and new partners to develop the event. We have created a niche in the endurance sports arena by focusing on unique events that push the boundaries of human potential. 12 Hours Pensacola will force athletes to focus not only on endurance but also on strategy.”

12 Hours Pensacola will be the first in a series of events produced under the Vertigo Challenge brand as races are currently being planned for 2022 in Memphis and New Orleans. The event entices cyclists to turn as many laps as possible within the 12 hour time frame with awards being presented in several categories including fastest lap turned and the most laps turned. 2022 will introduce a three race series with an overall champion being awarded based on accumulated points over the 3 races.
