ReSport Offers Virtual Race Platform Free of Charge Through April

March 19, 2020

Realtime Experience Sport (ReSport), a platform for advanced mapping, registration, results, and race tracking, announces free use of its virtual race platform for events disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now through the end of April, race directors can create virtual races to replace or supplement postponed or cancelled races, giving participants the event experience online.

Virtual races combine interactive maps, data feeds, imagery, participant information, and social media to simulate the race itself. Races can be live or distributed; in other words your virtual race could be held at the same time as your cancelled race with participants competing simultaneously, or the virtual race could be held over a period of time (a week, for instance) with times aggregated at the end. All types of races are supported, from 5k’s to multisport, to stage races and team relays.

Your virtual race can include:

  • interactive course maps
  • announcer feeds
  • live commentary
  • SMS updates to friends and family
  • Strava integration
  • finisher certificates
  • live results and scoring
  • race replays

In addition to virtual races, ReSport offers registration for a variety of event types, including races, camps, clinics, performances, and challenges (virtual events held over longer periods of time), through its cloud-based platform. ReSport also offers interactive course mapping with unlimited routes, markers, and elevation profiles for races and tours; advanced results displays and scoring; and live participant tracking. All components of the platform are mobile-friendly and update in real-time, without the need for browser refresh.
