Range of Motion Project Uses Funding from Gnarly Nutrition’s Fuel For Life Grant to Lead Global Mobility Campaign Providing Prosthetic Care to Amputees in Need

October 11, 2022

DENVER, CO — October 11, 2022 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Range of Motion Project (ROMP) is thrilled to share that they were selected as the Gnarly Nutrition Fuel for Life Grant recipient. ROMP was chosen as the winner from over 150 submissions, and was awarded the $12,000 Grand Prize based on the organization’s ongoing mission to provide prosthetic care to the underserved and increase awareness around the unequal distribution of assistive devices globally. The Gnarly funding will be applied towards the pursuit of the annual “Climbing for ROMP” campaign–which this year involves summiting Cotopaxi, Ecuador’s second highest volcano. Through the campaign, ROMP strives to raise $150,000 which will fund high quality prosthetic care and services to 100 ROMP patients; ROMP plans to use the Gnarly grant to cover some of their team costs towards their Cotopaxi global campaign. In addition to funding, the ROMP team will also receive Gnarly products to use during the Cotopaxi summit and training.

“ROMP truly exemplifies Gnarly’s primary value, which is to Push Your Possible,” says Marketing Director, Liz Esche. “The Cotopaxi Summit is a great example of this, and Gnarly is grateful to partner with such an incredible organization and help support this year’s Climbing for ROMP campaign.”

Cotopaxi Climb Team

The signature event each year brings together a group of adaptive athletes and disability rights advocates from North and South America, including ROMP patients, to climb Ecuador’s 19,347-foot volcano Cotopaxi. The 2022 team includes cancer survivor and para-triathlete Kyle Stepp, professional trail runner Zach Friedley, three-time Paralympic gold medalist Brenna Huckaby and many more. The mission is to show the world that with access to proper technology, no mountain is too high. While the 2022 Cotopaxi Climb team is in Ecuador climbing, everyone around the world is invited to join in solidarity with the team and get moving for ROMP patients.

Climb With Us

Climbing for ROMP is a free and virtual campaign accessible to anyone, anywhere. We invite the global community to join us on any date(s) September 24 – October 9, 2022. By getting outside and taking on your “mountain” or a physical challenge, you can help ROMP patients take their first steps towards their own summits. We use “climb” as a metaphor that signifies our ongoing fight for mobility.

“We are in a unique position to leverage our own mobility to help amputees receive the prosthetic treatment and technology that they need to redefine their potential,” said David Krupa, co-founder of ROMP.
