Pro Cyclist Tom Pidcock Features in Safa Brian’s Series “Descent Disciples”
February 21, 2023
/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Brian “Safa” Wagner, cyclist and filmmaker, will live premiere “Descent Disciples ||Vol13|| Tom Pidcock vs. The Fish” on February 21st, 2023, at 8:00 am PST on YouTube.
Volume 13’s featured rider, Tom Pidcock, is a professional rider for Ineos Grenadiers and is often referred to as the best multi-discipline talent on two wheels. Tom visited cyclist and filmmaker Safa Brian in southern California to ride the infamous Tuna Canyon descent. This extraordinarily steep, winding, and narrow one-way road in the Santa Monica Mountains includes roughly 65 bends in 4.4 kilometers that drops 390 meters at an average gradient of 9.75% that maxes out at 18%. In 2020, Safa cleaned the route, recording the fastest known time and documenting it on his Strava and YouTube channels. As Safa describes, “Tuna Canyon is a great stage for a world-class rider like Tom to showcase his bike handling skills. There are plenty of descents in the area that are longer and have better views, but Tuna is where bike handlers come to test themselves. I think what Tom managed to do with only a few sighting runs beforehand proves he lives up to his reputation as the best descender in the pro peloton. I’m thrilled to share this with the cycling world.” Viewers can participate in the live premiere scheduled for February 21st, 2023 @ 8:00am PST on YouTube.
