Further plans for 60-acre Olympus Sports Campus Unveiled

Clermont, Fla. (Feb. 15, 2023) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Olympus Sports Development Team recently held its annual Olympus Sports Summit to further plans for its 60-acre Sports Campus – the cornerstone of the nearly 250-acre innovative master-planned community and lifestyle destination in central Florida, Olympus. The Team unveiled a three-phase plan to complete the campus which is expected to begin later this year.

The Team also finalized a strategic relationship with CLASH Endurance – a Daytona Beach-based sports-media and endurance event company who will become the exclusive endurance sports and triathlon event promoter and organizer at Olympus. CLASH is the latest in a series of well-known sports brands to join the Olympus Sports Campus.

“We are thrilled to announce another tremendous partnership that will continue to enhance the athlete experience at Olympus,” said Matt Carroll, Senior Advisor of Sports and Business Development for Olympus. “CLASH’s extensive experience and wealth of knowledge in the endurance sports world further validates the well-established reputation of the City of Clermont as the ‘Choice of Champions.’”

“Our Sports Campus is set to become an international destination,” Carroll continued. “We are carefully selecting the right partners and developing plans for the ultimate training and competition venues to attract the very best athletes from around the world.”

Focusing on traditional endurance sports including triathlon, duathlon, cycling and running, CLASH Endurance is also expanding into genres such as mountain biking, trail running and relays, holding successful events across five locations in 2023. With continued growth planned and ongoing broadcast coverage to showcase the uniqueness of its athletes and their stories, CLASH looks ahead to double its more than 10,000 age group participants and professional athlete rosters that include World Champions, Olympians, and Short/Long Course Specialists.

“We have had great success organizing and producing events at iconic speedway venues across the U.S.,” said Bill Christy, CEO of CLASH Endurance. “Our partnership with Olympus works in step with our vision of creating exceptional race day experiences for athletes and we are thrilled to offer them the opportunity to train, prepare and recover at this world-class facility.”

With its new partnership and sports campus in central Florida, Olympus is poised to become a major hub for endurance athletes from around the world. Plans for a one-mile criterium course, or “crit course,” are now underway and will be one of many Olympus assets that CLASH can leverage for training and events.

“We love the all-inclusive nature of Olympus’ campus and believe our participants and their families will be able to fully immerse themselves in this unique endurance festival weekend. The opportunity to race, stay, eat, train and play all without even leaving the campus offers an event experience like no other,” said Alicia Kaye, retired professional triathlete and Director of Marketing & Pro Competition. “Whether you’re a ranked professional athlete or a weekend warrior, a CLASH Endurance event produced at Olympus is sure to impress.”

The development of the Olympus Sports Campus will begin with construction of five major sports venues: Championship red-clay tennis complex; Soccer complex, Ice-sports center, Criterium course and the Olympus Athlete Center.

At the heart of the Athlete Center is Olympus Performance Institute – the bedrock of the sports campus. The Olympus Performance Institute will provide cutting-edge technology and amenities to help the world’s greatest athletes train, improve, refine and recover with elite-level strength and conditioning and athletic training.

“As we continue to finalize details for the Olympus Athlete Center and the Olympus Performance Institute, we are confident the Sports Campus will come to serve as a ‘home away from home’ for athletes training and competing at Olympus,” said Carroll.
