SAN DIEGO – February 26, 2021 – The Kaiser Permanente Thrive Half Marathon & 5K today announced a new fall race date of Sunday, November 6th and will celebrate five years running in 2021. Also new this year, the half-marathon will feature a new loop course that will start and finish along the waterfront in Mission Bay.

“November is one of the best months of the year in San Diego and after a year of virtual races, we’re looking forward to the return of a live, in-person event this fall celebrating all that San Diego has to offer,” said Jamie Monroe, Race Director for Easy Day Sports. “Our new half-marathon course will certainly be one of the most scenic in Southern California, featuring gorgeous bayfront views for all 13.1-miles. Our team is ready to produce a fantastic event experience to make 2021 the year we all thrive.”

Over its five-year history the Thrive Half Marathon has become one of San Diego’s premier fall running events, and the perfect tune up race for fall marathon training. All participants will receive a finishers medal, technical t-shirt and enjoy a finish line festival with expo booths, refreshments and post-race entertainment.

Registration for the 2021 event will open on Monday, March 15th with special early bird pricing. Athletes are encouraged to take advantage of the lowest prices of the year with one of the most runner friendly refund / deferral policies in the industry. The new 2021 course map and a detailed turn-by-turn route description will be released at a later date.
