Mountain Hardwear Partners with Professional Skier Rachael Burks

March 10, 2021

Richmond, Calif. (March 9, 2021)– Mountain Hardwear, a leader in performance equipment and apparel for climbers, mountaineers, and athletes, is proud to expand the brand’s snowsports athlete team with the addition of professional skier, Rachael Burks.

Dubbed “The Most Underrated Woman in Pro Skiing,” Rachael Burks is known for skiing burly lines on some of the world’s steepest peaks. She’s competed in four world tours, won the Red Bull Cold Rush in 2012, appeared in three Warren Miller movies, three Teton Gravity Research films, and starred in “Pretty Faces,” an all-female ski film featuring the best athletes from around the world.

“It’s an absolute honor to have an athlete of Rachael’s caliber join our team of athletes,” said Ashlee Peterson, Partnerships Specialist of Mountain Hardwear. “For years Rachael has been a phenomenal force in the world of skiing, both pushing the level of performance, as well as amplifying the number of women we see in ski films. We love what she stands for and skis for, and look forward to supporting her ventures on and off the snow.”

Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, Rachael found her edges in the Wasatch under the guidance of her dad. Rachael’s love for the sport took over while working at Snowbird in 2002.

Since then, she has championed women’s skiing and traveled the globe, bringing her vivacious enthusiasm and sequined outfits with her.

The Billy Poole Foundation is a regional non-profit, based in Montana founded partly by Rachael. The goal of the Billy Poole Foundation is to give kids with limited resources an opportunity to learn to ski and inspire a love for the outdoors and the mountains in the process.
