Giro Announces New Race Helmet: Signes Spherical

February 4, 2021

This new race helmet packs a punch for alpine racers looking for unrivaled protection, performance, and style

(Park City, UT) Giro Sport Design, the leader in high-performance snow helmets and goggles, today announced the launch of the new Signes™ Spherical race helmet. With a wide range of sizes, this unisex ski race helmet (735 grams, size M) is for alpine racers looking for a comfortable, low profile helmet that provides confidence while training or competing. The Signes Spherical helmet retails for $220 and will be available starting Fall 2021 from authorized Giro retailers and www.giro.com.

When you think of racing, speed is the generally first word that comes to mind. That’s what we were looking to convey with the Signes. This name comes from Formula 1’s Circuit Paul Ricard where Signes is considered the fastest corner in all of Formula 1 Racing,” remarked Zack Leader, Category Manager for Giro Snow. “The overall aesthetic and design lines of this helmet put the product in motion even when it is sitting on the shelf. However, it’s super approachable for all ages and abilities, whether you’re Nina O’Brien racing at the highest levels with the U.S. Ski Team or an aspiring competitor participating in a local race night.”

From the outside, its modern hard-shell construction screams style and speed in a durable and lightweight package that adheres to CE EN1077 Class A FIS RH13 specifications. On the inside, the Signes utilizes Spherical technology, powered by MIPS®, to help redirect impact forces away in the event of a crash. The addition of IONIC+® anti-microbial padding helps keep bacteria and odor at bay. For extra adaptability, the Signes’s chinbar, goggle retainer, and ear pads are removable.
