Girls Gone Gravel launches a women’s gravel team for female-identifying cyclists of all levels

September 17, 2021

The new non-competitive gravel team will be focused on chasing our own adventures

Victoria, B.C. – September 17, 2021Girls Gone Gravel, in partnership with Feisty Media, is pleased to announce their private women’s gravel team, The Girls Gone Gravel Adventures Team. This newly-formed team is open to any female-identifying cyclist.

Girls Gone Gravel founder, Kathryn Taylor feels like this team is different because the primary focus is not on competition:

“For me, gravel has always been about the idea of chasing an adventure, whether it’s trying out a new route with a friend or signing up for a big event, Often teams get formed around the idea of racing. We’ll certainly have some team members who want to race and we’ll be attending events as a group but our bigger focus is helping each other achieve whatever adventure we dream up.”

Girls Gone Gravel recently partnered with Feisty Media to officially become a sub-brand of the company. Feisty Media is a women-led media network dedicated to story-telling, critical-thinking and creating communities.  Founder and CEO Sara Gross is excited to add a women’s gravel community because “the popularity of the Girls Gone Gravel podcast and rapid social media growth demonstrates that women in gravel are eager to connect. Having a community makes sports that much more fulfilling – we are thrilled to be able to offer this for women wanting more in gravel.”

Co-host Kathryn Taylor created the Girls Gone Gravel Instagram account in 2018, which quickly turned into an active online community.

Team members will get access to a private online community, limited guaranteed access to vetted events, question and answer sessions on topics like training, bike packing, bike fitting, and balancing work life and riding goals. In addition, team members will get special discounts to future Girls Gone Gravel and Feisty events.

Individuals can join the team at any time. The cost is $9.99 a month or $99 annually with scholarships available for any woman who is facing financial hardships. Go to https://www.girlsgonegravel.com/team for more information.
