Ciele Athletics Releases Its 2025 Cold Weather Collection
September 4, 2025

Performance apparel, headwear and accessories designed to meet the demands of winter running
MONTREAL (September 4, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — Ciele Athletics, the technical-apparel brand based in Montreal, Canada, has officially launched its 2025 Cold Weather Collection, a performance-driven line of men’s and women’s apparel, headwear and accessories designed to meet the realities of winter running head-on.
At the core of the collection is a commitment to comfort, performance and protection, anchored by Ciele’s proprietary COOLmatic | EXP DIAMAfleece™ and COOLmatic | EXP DIAMAfleece lite™ fabrics. These diamond-grid recycled fleeces feature embedded carbon yarns that help regulate temperature, wick moisture and fight odor, delivering breathable warmth without compromising performance.
Designed for cold, harsh conditions, COOLmatic | EXP DIAMAfleece™ features a larger diamond pattern and higher pile that provide plush insulation while promoting airflow. COOLmatic | EXP DIAMAfleece lite™, developed to meet the need for a versatile layer between a traditional base layer and a midlayer, offers a lighter, more breathable construction ideal for high-output activities and transitional weather. Both versions of the fabric use an open-knit diamond grid structure that reduces bulk and enhances ventilation while retaining warmth in key zones, functioning as a hybrid solution for adaptable layering.
“The diamond grid does a lot of work,” shares Ciele Production and Sourcing Manager Meagan Smith. “It reduces weight and bulk while maximizing breathability. That open-grid structure allows for better airflow, so heat can escape when you’re working hard, but it still traps warmth in the right zones. Because it’s a knit, it naturally breathes more than traditional fleece.”
The seasonal release includes a full range of apparel and accessories designed to support movement through dropping temperatures, from base layers to outerwear. Key styles include the temperature-regulating fleece IBTLongsleeve and IBTHoody, the wind-, snow- and sleet-resistant FRDWintertight and the wool/silk-insulated VLVInsulator. New this season, the IBTLongsleeve and IBTHoody feature COOLmatic | EXP DIAMAfleece lite™ for lighter warmth and a more form-fitting silhouette compared to the VLV styles. Complementary headwear and accessory essentials like merino wool beanies, UPF +40 protection balaclavas and breathable neck collars, all built with layered performance in mind, complete the collection. Reflective details are integrated throughout the entire collection, along with C0 water-repellent finishes.
The 2025 Cold Weather Collection exemplifies Ciele’s ongoing commitment to performance and innovation, merging advanced fabric technology with functional design to equip runners for the most demanding winter conditions. In line with Ciele’s responsibility ethos, durable recycled fabrics make up the majority of all materials used, to reduce the impact on the planet. This collection is designed to provide individual pieces and layering solutions that enable runners to find comfort and regulate their temperature from brisk fall through harsh winter and into warming spring. Each piece is rigorously tested in the streets and on the trails of Montreal in temperatures ranging from 50 F (10 C) to -31 F (-35 C), ensuring they perform in all conditions through the winter months.
The Ciele Athletics Cold Weather Collection is now available for purchase via CieleAthletics.com, at espace | MTL and at select retailers globally.
