CADEX Expands Road Wheel Product Line with the CADEX 36 Disc

(May 25, 2021) —CADEX, the manufacturer of high-performance cycling products, announced today the launch of their new CADEX 36 Disc Wheel System. At 1302g for the set, these superlight hookless carbon wheels feature a best-in-class stiffness-to-weight ratio and have been designed for riders demanding quick acceleration, exceptional efficiency, as well as reliable stability and control on a wide variety of roads. The CADEX 36 Disc WheelSystem features a number of industry-leading technologies to help riders perform their best whether climbing, sprinting, or descending. Fast acceleration and a distinct, snappy ride quality stems from CADEX’s custom-engineered Dynamic Balanced Lacing (DBL) technology, while the wheel’s reinforced carbon lay-up and high-tensile strength carbon aero spokes deliver a transmission stiffness that is 40% better than similar competitive wheelsets.
Additionally, The CADEX 36 Disc delivers superior efficiency by keeping wheel flex to a minimum, which results in a lateral stiffness-to-weight ratio that is 30% better than competitively priced wheels.Additionally, the CADEX 36 Disc makes use of the brand’s low friction R1-C30 hub and features ceramic bearings in lieu of steel to provide 1.5x smoother action.
With an inner rim width of 22.4mm, the CADEX 36 Disc WheelSystem also gives riders greater support for today’s high-volume tires while the 36mm rim depth provides riders with stability and control while encountering changing wind conditions on a wide variety of road surfaces.

For transmission stiffness testing, the rear wheel is secured at the axle, the valve hole in the rim is fixed and torsional force is applied to the freehub. Internal testing demonstrated that the CADEX 36 Disc has a transmission stiffness-to-weight ratio that’s over 40 percent better than Bontrager AEOLUS RSL 37, Roval Alpinist CLX and Zipp 303 Firecrest Tubeless wheels.
For lateral stiffness, both the front and the rear wheel are locked at the axle and lateral force is applied to the rim. Internal testing demonstrated that the CADEX 36 Disc has a lateral stiffness-to-weight ratio that’s up to 30 percent better Bontrager AEOLUS RSL 37, Roval Alpinist CLX and Zipp 303 Firecrest Tubeless wheels.
