British Dream Team For RTP Sharks in Super League Triathlon’s Championship Series

August 2, 2023

LONDON, UK /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Super League Triathlon’s 2023 Championship Series will boast arguably the strongest British triathlon team ever assembled with the RTP Sharks announcing a squad that features some of the biggest names in the sport.

The team, managed by two-time British Olympian Michelle Dillon, includes Alex Yee, Jonathan Brownlee, Beth Potter and Sophie Coldwell as their headliners.

They are supported by a host of other British talent, including Kate Waugh, Olivia Mathias, Jess Fullagar, Dan Dixon and Max Stapley. Sergio Baxter Cabrera is the only non-British athlete to feature in their squad – and even he lives and trains in Yorkshire.

RTP Sharks

Women: Beth Potter, Sophie Coldwell, Kate Waugh, Olivia Mathias, Jess Fullagar

Men: Alex Yee, Jonny Brownlee, Dan Dixon, Max Stapley, Sergio Baxter Cabrera

Yee and Brownlee have rarely raced together, but few will forget their performances in the mixed team relay at the Tokyo Olympics, where they both starred as Great Britain won gold, completing the full set of Olympic medals for Brownlee.

All eyes for the Brits will turn towards Paris once the Championship Series is complete, and Dillon faces a test of her managerial clout as she looks to unite a team that are also potential rivals for spots in Paris, in particular in the mixed relay team where Beth Potter and Sophie Coldwell could well be fighting it out for one place. In that context, every performance counts, and particularly over the super fast distances of Super League.

The Super League Triathlon 2023 Championship Series is:

  • August 27: London, UK
  • September 3: Toulouse, France
  • September 30: Malibu, USA
  • October 21: NEOM, Saudi Arabia

The RTP Sharks are the second team to be revealed for the 2023 Championship Series after the Santara Tech Eagles. RTS Warriors and Bahrain Victorious Scorpions will be revealed shortly.
