Austin Marathon’s Philanthropic Program Awarded Grant From The Moody Foundation

Since 2016, The Moody Foundation has contributed nearly $2 million to Austin Marathon Gives

AUSTIN, Texas /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Austin Marathon Gives (formerly Austin Gives Miles), the philanthropic program of the Ascension Seton Austin Marathon, proudly announces The Moody Foundation as its presenting sponsor for the 8th consecutive year. The Moody Foundation has given nearly $2 million to Austin Marathon Gives since 2016. The 2023 Austin Marathon Gives presented by The Moody Foundation is already working to increase previous fundraising efforts and to further the positive impact on the Central Texas community. The Austin Marathon, owned and produced by High Five Events, takes place February 19, 2023.

“The Moody Foundation is pleased to once again partner with Austin Marathon Gives to match funds raised for participating local organizations, helping to further their missions,” said Ross Moody, trustee of the Moody Foundation. “With this single gift, we’re excited to see the collective impact our runners and donors will make to our Central Texas community.”

Austin Marathon Gives will receive a grant from The Moody Foundation for the eighth year in a row. The money raised annually through Austin Marathon Gives significantly impacts a wide array of local nonprofits. The program fundraised over $750,000 in 2022, recruited more than 1,000 runners, and provided 1,500 volunteers. Austin Marathon Gives nine -year fundraising total is over $5 million dollars.

“We are once again honored that The Moody Foundation is providing local charities matching funds through Austin Marathon Gives. It has meant so much to this program for so many years,” said Jack Murray, co-owner of the Austin Marathon.. “The Moody Foundation’s previous contributions have had a far-reaching, positive effect on Central Texas nonprofits and this announcement will allow us to further that positive impact.”

The Moody Foundation, based in Galveston, Texas, has funded projects and programs that better communities throughout Texas. The grant that will match Austin Marathon Gives donations will have a positive impact on the Central Texas organizations and their specific causes by matching their funds raised (up to $10,000 per Official Charity). One of The Moody Foundation’s areas of support, community development, directly aligns with the goal of the Austin Marathon: to better Central Texas. Austin Marathon Gives is excited to expand The Moody Foundation relationship and knows the positive effects will be far-reaching.
