T100 Partners with Oakley Meta Glasses: Could This Change Triathlon Coverage?

At the Sokin San Francisco T100 in June, we had the privilege of not only watching athletes (both professional and amateur) trial the Oakley Meta glasses during the race, but also of borrowing a pair ourselves, and to say we were blown away is an understatement.

Firstly, while reporting on the ground, it’s always a challenge to manage everything at once – listening to the broadcast, following the tracker app, and getting to all the key locations around the course for photography. Well, the Oakley Meta glasses synced seamlessly to the iPhone, allowing us to listen to the race broadcast directly through the glasses while moving around the course.

We could also simply give voice commands to snap photos or capture video as the race unfolded, and the quality was surprisingly good. triathlon MAGAZINE
