Bay Area 100 Powered by Mount To Coast Announces 2026 Champions
June 17, 2026

Patrick Rabuzzi and Caitlin Boldt claim event’s first-ever titles
OAKLAND, CA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The inaugural running of the Bay Area 100 powered by Mount to Coast took place on Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14, 2026, delivering an unforgettable and grueling test of endurance for a field of determined athletes.
The challenging point-to-point course pushed runners to their absolute limits as they navigated dramatic swings in weather and terrain while tackling the race’s 18,000 vertical feet of elevation gain. The day began on the steps of Cal Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, with foggy and cool conditions, dipping to an estimated 55°F, before transitioning into cloudless, sunny skies. The heat peaked at a reported 95°F at the Las Trampas aid station (Mile 46.1), creating a true war of attrition out on the trails.
Despite the challenging conditions, of the 151 starters who crossed the line in the morning, 101 resilient runners managed to earn their finishes, representing a 67% finishing rate. Notably, the field was rich with debut talent, including an estimated 51 first-time 100-mile runners taking on the ultimate distance.
Elite Field Highlights
In the men’s division, Patrick Rabuzzi of Oakland, CA, claimed the historic title of inaugural champion, crossing the finish line with an incredible time of 16:54:56. He was followed closely by San Francisco’s Jacques Saarbach, who secured second place in 17:02:04, and Zander Chase of Berkeley, CA, who rounded out the podium in third with a time of 17:22:30. Rabuzzi led from the race’s early miles and was pushed by the men’s field, as he frequently had to look over his shoulder at his pursuers. At the Chabot Space Center Aid Station (Mile 74.3), his lead had been reduced to mere minutes, and it sat at four minutes as late as Mile 83 before he began to pull away.
The women’s race featured an outstanding performance by Caitlin Boldt of Pleasanton, CA, who took the top spot on the podium with a stellar time of 21:52:12. Zoe Ray of Walnut Creek, CA, captured second place, finishing in 22:28:26, while Rebecca Heymann of Santa Cruz, CA, locked in third place with a time of 22:56:09, made more impressive by the fact it was her debut at the 100-mile distance. Boldt took the lead near the Big Bear Aid Station (Mile 71) and pulled away, displaying a steady and strong pace over the race’s final 20 miles.
