Amazfit Partners with Explorer-Storyteller Chris Burkard to Strengthen Its T-Rex Outdoor Platform

June 8, 2026

Following its recent European partnership with high-altitude alpinist Jost Kobusch, Amazfit continues to deepen its presence in outdoor sport, exploration, and adventure-driven wearable technology

Milpitas, Calif. (June 08, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/Amazfit, a leading global smart wearables brand owned by Zepp Health (NYSE: ZEPP), today announced a new partnership with renowned explorer, photographer, filmmaker, and author Chris Burkard, marking another step in the brand’s continued expansion of its T-Rex outdoor platform and broader outdoor performance strategy. The partnership is part of a forward-looking effort to strengthen Amazfit’s role in the outdoor category by supporting elite explorers, helping inspire the next generation of outdoor participants, and showing how wearable technology can enable deeper exploration, smarter preparation, and more confidence in the outdoors.

The Chris Burkard x Amazfit collaboration, centered around exploration, product insight, and real-world adventure, will begin rolling out across both Amazfit and Chris Burkard’s owned channels in June 2026.

As the new face of the Amazfit T-Rex series, Burkard will help connect the outdoor user experience to the future of Amazfit’s rugged wearable platform. His role will include campaign storytelling, media appearances, hands-on field testing, and product feedback designed to inform how outdoor athletes, explorers, creators, travelers, and everyday adventurers use wearable technology in the field.

Known for capturing remote landscapes and human stories from some of the world’s most unpredictable environments, Burkard brings a distinct perspective to Amazfit’s outdoor strategy. In a new content series filmed in Moab, Utah, Burkard puts the T-Rex Ultra 2 through its paces across changing terrain, long days outside, low-visibility conditions, and moments where preparation, navigation, battery life, durability, and visibility become part of the outdoor experience.

“The best stories usually come from places that are hard to reach, unpredictable, or a little uncomfortable,” said Chris Burkard. “When I’m out shooting, I need gear that helps me stay present and keep moving without overthinking it. The T-Rex Ultra 2 fits into that rhythm. It is there when I need navigation, battery life, or a little extra visibility, but it does not get in the way of the experience. I’m excited to collaborate with Amazfit not just as an ambassador, but as someone who can help shape products through real experience in the field.”

For Amazfit, Burkard is not only a campaign ambassador. He is a field-based creative partner who helps translate real outdoor experience into product storytelling and future product thinking. His work will help inform the evolution of Amazfit’s T-Rex platform by bringing feedback from outdoor environments where products are used for extended periods, often far from controlled conditions. That field-based perspective will support Amazfit’s ongoing development of wearable technology for outdoor athletes, explorers, creators, travelers, and consumers seeking reliable tools for adventure, training, travel, and everyday exploration.

“Chris helps us connect the T-Rex platform with the real world of outdoor exploration, not only the summit moment, but the full process of preparation, navigation, uncertainty, endurance, and storytelling,” said Scott Shepley, Head of Global Marketing at Amazfit. “His perspective gives us a stronger field-based understanding of how rugged wearables should support people when conditions change. He’s not only capturing incredible moments around the world, he’s living them, and his involvement helps us continue building technology that supports both serious adventurers and the broader community of people who want to spend more time outside.”

The addition of Burkard reinforces the brand’s continued move beyond competitive sport into the broader outdoor space, where distance, terrain, changing environments, and real-world conditions define exploration, resilience, and storytelling. For the T-Rex platform, Burkard represents a broader outdoor audience that includes outdoor creators, travelers, photographers, adventure users, and people who simply want to spend more time outside with tools that support preparation, confidence, and discovery.
