T100 World Champion Kate Waugh Headlines Star-Studded Spain T100 Triathlon

May 5, 2026

Pamplona-Navarra (May 5, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Reigning T100 World Champion Kate Waugh tops a stellar field at next month’s Spain T100 Triathlon in Pamplona-Navarra on 23 May, 2026.

The British Olympian will go head-to-head with new PTO World #1 Julie Derron (SUI).

“I can’t wait to get racing,” said Waugh, who now lies World #3 having had to miss the Gold Coast T100 due to a calf injury. “It’s been a frustrating wait until my first race of the season, but I’m feeling good and really enjoying being back to full gas in training.”

“Watching the other girls compete in Australia made me realise how much I enjoy being out there competing. So with my T100 world title to defend, it’s important I put in a strong performance in Spain against a high calibre field. The course in Pamplona-Navarra looks incredible. Especially the 80km point-to-point bike course which I’ve heard great things about and I think will suit me.”

Swiss ace Derron has risen to #1 in the PTO World Rankings, despite only kicking off her 2026 season just over a week ago when she won the Challenge Taiwan Half. This is due to her best counting races in 2025 having been later in the year.

“It was frustrating to miss out on the Gold Coast, but I’ve been training well over the last few weeks and I am looking forward to putting down a strong performance in Spain against a quality field.”

Spanish hopes will rest with Sara Perez Sala, with the star hoping to improve on her 6th place finish on the Gold Coast.
