Delaware Marathon Running Festival Set to Welcome Largest Field in Event History on April 19

Wilmington, DE (April 10, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Delaware Marathon Running Festival is set to make history on April 19, as the event prepares to host its largest field of marathon runners to date. Traditionally drawing approximately 500 participants in the full marathon, this year’s race has already surpassed 700 registered runners for the 26.2-mile distance. All distances combined, the total will be over 2,600 total participants, which is also an all-time high for the event.

“The reputation of the event and the welcoming nature of the Wilmington community has driven the growth of the event. Also important to note that runners from 42 different states and 5 foreign Countries will be making the trek to Wilmington, which spells significant economic impact for the region” said event organizer, Lee Corrigan.

The Delaware Marathon course offers participants a scenic tour of Wilmington’s most iconic areas. Runners will experience picturesque views along the Christina Riverfront, stretches through the vibrant downtown district, the beautiful Brandywine Hills neighborhoods and miles along the popular Jack Markell Trail. In addition to the full marathon, the festival features a half-marathon, 10K, and 5K, providing options for runners of all levels.

All participants will receive an Under Armour premium and a finisher medal designed with an American theme, celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States. Following their race, runners and spectators can enjoy post-race festivities in a lively park setting, complete with live music, entertainment and amenities that highlight the spirit of the Wilmington community.
