Liv Introduces The Next Generation Embolden Trail Bike
April 8, 2026

Redesigned frame, updated trail geometry, and increased suspension travel deliver more capability and control on modern trails.
NEWBURY PARK, CALIFORNIA (April 8, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Liv, the company dedicated to getting more women and girls on bikes, today announced the launch of the all-new Embolden, a redesigned trail bike built to deliver balanced handling, confident suspension performance, and the durability riders expect from a modern trail platform. With increased suspension travel, refined geometry, and a newly engineered hydroformed aluminum frame, the latest Embolden expands its trail capability while maintaining the intuitive handling that has made Embolden a trusted entry point into trail riding.
Originally developed to help riders build confidence on the trail, the new Embolden evolves the platform with performance-focused updates that make it more capable on technical terrain. The bike now features 140mm of front suspension and 130mm of rear-wheel travel, along with updated trail geometry and a size-specific wheel strategy that improves stability, rollover efficiency, and maneuverability across the size range.
“Confidence changes the way people ride,” said Ludi Scholz, Liv Off-Road Category Manager. “The Embolden has always been about giving riders a trail bike they can trust from the start. With this new generation we expanded what the platform can handle, so it keeps up as riders ride further, try new lines, and spend more time on the trail.”
Balanced Handling That Builds Confidence
The new Embolden introduces updated trail geometry designed to improve stability and control while preserving the intuitive handling riders appreciate as they build their trail skills. A slacker head angle, longer reach, and extended wheelbase give the bike a more planted feel at speed and improved stability on steeper descents.
A key change in the platform is the introduction of a size-specific mixed-wheel configuration on the smallest frame sizes. Previous generations of Embolden used dual 27.5-inch wheels on XS and S sizes. The new design pairs a 29-inch front wheel with a 27.5-inch rear wheel on XS and S frames, improving rollover capability and front-end stability while preserving maneuverability and standover clearance for smaller riders.
Sizes M and L continue to use dual 29-inch wheels, maximizing momentum and stability through rock gardens, roots, and trail features. Combined with the updated geometry, this wheel strategy helps ensure that every rider experiences balanced, predictable handling regardless of frame size.
Reliable Performance, Thoughtfully Designed
At the center of the new Embolden is a redesigned hydroformed ALUXX-grade aluminum frame, engineered using proprietary alloy construction to deliver a lightweight yet durable trail frame. Hydroforming allows engineers to optimize tube shapes for strength and stiffness while maintaining a responsive ride feel suited to everyday trail riding.
A new semi-integrated rear shock design increases frame stiffness while protecting the suspension from debris and creating a cleaner overall aesthetic. This layout also helps centralize mass within the frame, contributing to improved handling and ride stability.
Frame stiffness and pedaling efficiency are further supported by an oversized OverDrive head tube, which increases front-end stiffness for more precise steering, while the PowerCore bottom bracket area improves pedaling stiffness and efficient power transfer when climbing. The frame also adopts UDH compatibility, allowing riders to easily replace derailleur hangers using the widely available Universal Derailleur Hanger standard.
Thoughtful trail-ready details round out the design, including external cable routing at the cockpit that transitions to internal routing through flush frame guides to keep cables protected and quiet on the trail. A full-coverage molded chainstay protector reduces chain slap and helps maintain a smooth, silent ride over rough terrain. Tubeless-ready wheels allow riders to run lower tire pressure for improved traction and comfort, with tire clearance up to 2.6 inches for added grip and control.
Smooth Suspension, Simple Setup
The new Embolden delivers 130mm of rear-wheel travel through the FlexPoint suspension system, paired with 140mm of front suspension to provide confident capability across modern trail terrain.
FlexPoint uses a simple and durable single-pivot suspension layout that minimizes complexity while delivering smooth, predictable performance on varied trails. The system is designed to maintain traction and control over roots, rocks, and changing terrain, helping the rear wheel stay active and connected to the ground as trail conditions evolve.
This efficient suspension design also keeps the platform lightweight and easy to maintain, making it well suited for riders who want reliable trail performance without unnecessary complexity.
The Embolden will be available in frame sizes XS, S, M, and L. Learn more at liv-cycling.com/global/embolden.
