ROTH. (March 3, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – For the fourth time, Laura Philipp will be saying “Welcome to the Home of Triathlon!” in July. As the reigning champion, the 2024 Ironman World Champion returns to the place where she won the Roth crown last summer.

After her impressive triumph in 2025, the world-class athlete knows exactly what a victory at DATEV Challenge Roth means. “After experiencing last year how good it feels to win in Roth, I will give my all again this year to be at the top.”

“A week of excitement”

For Philipp, Roth is much more than just a long-distance triathlon: “Roth is more than just a race. It’s almost a whole week of excitement and triathlon celebrations. When I competed for the first time, I was overwhelmed, but now I look forward to it because it’s so fulfilling and creates so many wonderful memories!”

Last year, she took the lead from Alanis Siffert on the bike course and crossed the finish line in the Roth Triathlon Stadium in a strong 8:18:18 hours.

This year, in addition to Alanis Siffert, a new competitor is coming to Roth in the form of Kat Matthews, with whom she already had an epic duel at Ironman Hamburg.

Race director Felix Walchshöfer is delighted about the return of the defending champion: “Laura put in an impressive performance last year, having come close to victory several times in previous years. Not only is she a world-class athlete, but her passion also makes her a perfect fit for Roth. Her return as defending champion sends a strong signal and is a great gift for all triathlon fans.”

This adds further emotional and sporting excitement to an already high-calibre women’s field. The defending champion is ready, and DATEV Challenge Roth can look forward to another thrilling race.
