May 11, 2026

Premium GranFondo Experience Features Mt. Palomar Climbs, Cash Prize KOM/QOM Competitions, Fully Stocked Rest Stops, Free Hot Lunch and Post-Ride Massage
ESCONDIDO, Calif. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The 2026 Giro di San Diego GranFondo presented by Richard Duquette 911Law.com will return on Saturday, June 6, 2026, bringing cyclists from across the country together for one of Southern California’s most scenic and challenging GranFondo rides.
Known for its legendary mountain routes, premium rider support, and welcoming cycling community atmosphere, the Giro offers participants the opportunity to conquer iconic North County San Diego climbs including Mt. Palomar while enjoying a fully supported ride experience designed for both competitive and recreational cyclists.
The 2026 event features four route options:
• GranFondo – Mesa Grande – 95 Miles
• GranFondo – Palomar – 59 Miles
• MedioFondo – 30 Miles
• PiccoloFondo – 20 Miles
Both GranFondo routes include the famed Mt. Palomar climb and timed King and Queen of the Mountain (KOM/QOM) competition segments. Cash prize purses will be awarded to the top overall male and female climbers, along with the ability to wear the coveted Giro polka dot climber jerseys.
“The Giro is designed to give riders a true GranFondo experience with incredible routes, amazing support, and premium inclusions that many rides simply don’t offer,” said Race Director Carrie Panek of KOZ Events. “From the fully stocked rest stops to the free post-ride massage and fresh hot lunch served onsite, we want riders to feel like they are part of something special.”
Unlike many cycling events that charge extra for amenities or provide minimal finish-line food, the Giro includes a professionally prepared hot lunch with multiple meal options, including a vegan selection. Riders also receive access to fully stocked rest stops featuring hydration, sandwiches, fruit, snacks, cookies, and electrolyte drinks throughout the course.
Additional rider amenities include:
• Free post-ride massage
• SAG support and bike mechanics
• Professional course marshals
• Custom collectible finisher medal
• Finish-line celebration atmosphere
• Timed climbing segments
• Scenic mountain and valley routes through North County San Diego
The 2026 finisher medal continues the Giro tradition of creating unique collectible awards. This year’s design is a substantial 4-inch-tall cycling trophy-style medal featuring a removable lanyard that can also function as a collectible display piece or keychain.
The Giro di San Diego GranFondo is produced by KOZ Events, one of Southern California’s premier endurance sports production companies, known for producing high-quality cycling, running, and triathlon events.
