AUSTIN, Texas, April 1st, 2021 — The Ascension Seton Austin Half Marathon presented by Under Armour invites local bands to join the race-day excitement and perform live music on the 13.1-mile course. Local musicians have provided energy and the sounds of Austin for years to runners on course. Runners from all over love to experience The Live Music Capital of the World on race day. This year, 20 bands will add their signature sound to the Austin Half Marathon and KXAN Simple Health 5K. Interested bands are encouraged to complete this form before April 11th. Accepted bands will be compensated. The Austin Half Marathon, owned and produced by High Five Events, will take place on Sunday, April 25th.
“The sounds of Austin are wide-ranging and runners love the eclectic mix and the energy it provides,” said Jack Murray, co-owner of High Five Events. “Everyone is eager to hear live music again and these local bands will be an integral part of race weekend, helping us showcase The Live Music Capital of the World.”
Online registration is currently available for the Austin Half Marathon and the virtual half marathon and 5K. The in-person events both have a maximum capacity set in the COVID-19 Mitigation Plan.
