10 Friends Set Out To Ride Across America With The Hope Of Providing 3,000 Bikes To Disadvantaged Youth

April 19, 2023

Bestselling author and entrepreneur Jesse Itzler, Olympic athlete & coach Chris Hauth and entrepreneur adventurer Devon Levesque join forces to raise funds for Bikes for Kids Foundation

Atlanta Georgia, April, 2023 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – On April 24, 2023, ten friends will start their cross-country trek from San Diego, California to St. Augustine, Florida powered by bicycle. The rigorous “Ride of a Lifetime” journey will cover 3,000 miles with the goal of raising enough money to provide 3,000 bikes and helmets to disadvantaged kids, one bike per mile.

The riders, who have an average age of 52 years old and varying levels of experience as cyclists, hope to complete the ride, relay style, in 14 days. People can follow along on Instagram @Jesseitzler to experience the journey with this group of friends.

“Every year I put one big thing on my calendar, my Misogi, that sets the tone for the rest of the year. This ride has been on my f*ck it list for 15 years, it’s finally time,” said Jesse Itzler, Co- Founder of All Day Running Co and author of Living with a Seal. “I’ve lived with a Navy Seal, lived with monks on a monastery and now I’m living with 10 best friends in an RV for 2 weeks. I don’t take time with friends like this for granted, we all have families and kids and this is a once in a lifetime ride.”

The team of 10 friends includes: Jesse Itzler, entrepreneur; Kevin Krause, law enforcement; Tim Snee, law enforcement; Jack Brehm, retired paratrooper; Luis Leonardo, sauna pro; Rick Steele, entrepreneur; Bryan Fried, entrepreneur; Devon Levesque, entrepreneur and adventurer; Chris Hauth, endurance and mindset coach; Nate Sibly, cycling coach and concierge.

In Jesse’s signature style, the crew will have a sauna, cold plunge and vegan chef, Leslie Durso, serving up 10,000 calories a day. The group is very familiar with big adventures: two of the riders have completed the 777 challenge where they completed 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days.

“I’ve done a lot of wild things and I expect this trip to be the craziest adventure yet,” says rider Rick Steele, a serial entrepreneur and PGA trustee.

The riders have partnered with Bikes for Kids Foundation with a goal of donating 3,000 bikes. Each $135 raised will provide a child with their own bike and helmet.

The group is seeking support from individuals and organizations to help them reach their goal of providing 3,000 bikes to disadvantaged youth. Donations can be made here. https://www.bikesforkidsfoundation.org/donate-ride-of-a-lifetime/
