WSOC-TV Takes Home Mid-South Emmy Award for Coverage of Around the Crown 10K Together With Truist

Charlotte’s premier road race and its local broadcast partner celebrate a milestone win recognizing exceptional storytelling from start to finish

Charlotte, NC (February 26, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/Around the Crown 10K, Together with Truist (ATC10K), Charlotte’s premier road race, is excited to announce that its local broadcast partner WSOC-TV has won the 2025 Mid-South Emmy® Award in the Special Events category for coverage of the race. The award was presented at the February 14, 2026 ceremony hosted by the Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which celebrates the best in television and media production across the region.

The winning coverage brought Charlotte’s signature inner-beltway race to life through a production that spanned 12 cameras, including aerial footage shot from a helicopter, drone perspectives, and ground-level cameras woven throughout the course on I-277. The multi-angle approach gave viewers an inside look at the diverse community of runners who make up this event, capturing both the scale of the race and the personal stories of those who took part.

When accepting the award, WSOC producer, Britney Dixon, reflected on how much fun the ATC10K assignment was to cover. From the vantage point of the helicopter circling above the race to the energy on the ground among thousands of runners, the coverage captured the inclusive spirit of this community-centered event.

Now in its eighth year, Around the Crown 10K Together With Truist has become one of Charlotte’s most beloved annual traditions. Through programs like “Pay What You Can” and a strong emphasis on sustainability and inclusivity, ATC10K continues to welcome runners of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels.

In 2026, WSOC-TV will return to ATC10K on race day, September 6, with 90-minutes of live coverage highlighting more runner stories and ensuring everyone in the community can join in on the excitement of this day.
