Voting now open in RaceRaves “Best Racing Cities in the U.S.” poll

September 17, 2020

New initiative aims to identify the top racing destinations in the country

Los Angeles, CA (September 17, 2020) — RaceRaves, the leading online race finder and reviews community for runners and endurance athletes, has launched a nationwide poll to showcase the best racing cities in the United States.

Created in part to rekindle enthusiasm within the embattled endurance sports industry, the timely initiative encourages runners across the country to show their civic pride and make their voices heard by casting their vote for their top three US racing cities, as judged by the destination itself and the quality of running events hosted there. Poll choices include 50 candidates big and small, along with a write-in option.

This is the third annual installment in the company’s popular “Runners Choice” series which includes the Best Marathons in the U.S. and Best Half Marathons in the U.S.

“The pandemic has disrupted many industries, maybe none more so than endurance sports,” said RaceRaves co-founder and Chief Racing Officer Mike Sohaskey. “With that in mind, we wanted to get creative and rally restless runners across the country to shine a spotlight on the many deserving municipalities that proudly host the events which inspire so many athletes. Racing season will return, and in the meantime RaceRaves will continue to provide a trusted, go-to resource to support runners and race organizers alike.”

In addition to its annual Runners Choice series, RaceRaves regularly publishes industry-leading features including “Best Bets for Boston Marathon Qualifying Races” and “Racing on all Seven Continents,” as well as a helpful primer on six of the world’s most popular marathons, the Abbott World Marathon Majors. The company also uses its distinctive voice to help brands and events tell their story to a receptive and engaged audience.

Voting for the nation’s top racing cities ends Sunday, October 18 at 11:59pm PDT, and the winning cities will be announced and profiled on the company’s blog in mid-November.
