Tower 26 Hermosa Beach Triathlon a Triathlon Success Story

Malibu CA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The 2023 Tower 26 Hermosa Beach Triathlon is in the books and hit a bases loaded homerun at the Hermosa Beach Pier in Mid-August.

The event, in its 34^th year continues to inspire, entertain, and attract a wide range of Competitors, Sponsors and now fundraisers as well. With a field that sold out over a month in advance, the organizers and Tower 26 Swim Bike Run coaches were able to focus on training and preparing the nearly 500 first time Competitors. “I am especially proud of the number of participants who took advantage of our creative programs, including all day Triathlon Camps, Pool and Ocean Swim Clinics and Triathlon Clinics” said Tower 26 Founder Gerry Rodrigues.

The event continued its matching program for Sophia’s Buddies, with a new twist – Sophia’s Buddies Founder Sandra Andrade announced the organization is donating all funds raised at the triathlon to Pediatric Cancer Research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. “We are very proud of the 40 percent increase in fundraising over last year. Our donation will be focused on Car T Cell Studies, a cutting-edge technology that will lead to faster treatment and one day cures for a variety of pediatric cancers,” said Sandra. Xterra Wetsuit provided Vortex wetsuits as a fundraising incentive for the efforts.

In addition to the abundance of first timers, great weather and a fun safe course, organizers noticed the incredible warm family feeling at the 34^th edition. “We saw Dads, Moms, Grandparents and Grandchildren all racing side by side, it’s a testament to our long-standing community first approach and was quite humbling to see and meet a multigenerational group of triathletes, enjoying themselves and celebrating life together!” Said Event Founder Michael Epstein. Not only did the athlete community embrace this mantra – The City of Hermosa Beach rewarded producers’ efforts with the first ever long-term agreement for the event as the MESP Team hit another year in Hermosa out of the park.
