Tony Hopkin Aims to Shatter Guinness World Record for Longest Triathlon – All for a Greater Cause!
May 21, 2025

Northamptonshire, UK /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Local endurance athlete Tony Hopkin is set to push his limits in an extraordinary solo challenge this June in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Single-Event Triathlon. The current record stands at an astonishing 407.4km, but Tony is determined to go even further—all while raising vital funds for New Leaf Learning, a charity dedicated to supporting children with learning difficulties.
The Ultimate Endurance Test
Between 14-15 June 2025, Tony will embark on a grueling non-stop triathlon consisting of:
✔ 16km open-water swim at Pitsford Reservoir
✔ 400km bike ride through Northamptonshire & Buckinghamshire
✔ 100+ laps around his local lake in an ultra-marathon run
There’s one critical rule: if Tony pauses for longer than 5 minutes without covering distance, the attempt ends. No breaks, no sleep—just relentless perseverance.
Why? For New Leaf Learning
Tony’s motivation goes beyond personal achievement. He’s raising funds for New Leaf Learning, a pioneering charity offering nature-based, connection-focused education for children struggling in mainstream schools—including his eldest son.
“New Leaf Learning provides a safe, outdoor space where children with learning differences can thrive. Their work is transformative, and I believe this kind of education should be standard,” says Tony.
Sumarpo Stands with Tony
Triathlon gear brand Sumarpo proudly supports Tony’s mission, proving that this challenge isn’t just about a record—it’s about changing lives.
