The Trans-Texas Virtual Run Is All About the Data

July 16, 2020

Houston, Texas (July 16, 2020)Trail Racing Over Texas (TROT), the largest trail racing company in Texas and host of The Trans-Texas Virtual Run has launched a custom digital dashboard for tracking the over 2,000 event participants that have registered to date to run across the great State of Texas. Individuals and teams have until the end of 2020 to run the 879 miles across the state.

“It’s amazing that runners have already cumulatively ran over 81,000 miles and we are only 15 days in,” says race director Rob Goyen. “We’re still seeing individuals and teams sign up which is great since there are no physical races happening and having a virtual event of this scale is keeping everybody active.”

The focus on runner data for this race was intentional. “Given the scale of this event, being able to keep track of progress in real time is a great way to keep athletes and teams engaged,” says Rob. Runners can see how much progress they’ve made, see where they are on the course map, how much mileage they would have to run per day to finish by Dec. 31st, and a lot more.

Registration is still open and individuals and teams are encouraged to sign up and race. All participants will receive a bib, tri-blend gender-specific shirt, a course map and sticker when they register and a custom finisher’s medal designed by Elevation Culture when they complete the challenge. Runners will also be entered into random drawings for giveaways from the event sponsors through the end of the year. Individuals and teams can register on ultrasignup.com.
