The Texas Distance Challenge wins The Bib Rave 100 “Best Virtual Race Experience”

December 3, 2020

Texas-themed event receives “Best Races in America” honors in BibRave100 “Decade in Review – 2010-2020” awards.

Texas – The Texas Distance Challenge, a virtual initiative created for participants to run, walk or ride around or across Texas while supporting the open spaces of the great State of Texas, is honored to be listed among the races with the “Best Virtual Race Experience” by The Bib Rave 100.

The award program, which highlights the last 10-years of events in the industry, is considered the definitive list of the best races in America. To earn this award, the event had to be nominated to be placed on the slate to earn the award as the Best Virtual Race Experience for the decade in America.

“Our team is honored, thrilled and energized by this recognition. We have been putting in extremely long hours to offer a unique and meaningful experience to all our participants, and it’s great to see that it’s been well received” said Tony Yamanaka, Event Director. “When we started seeing the wave of postponements and cancellations roll in, we knew we had a real opportunity to create something unique and impactful. Our team has knocked it out of the park, and everyone’s contributions have been to the end-product.”

Event owners hope that these new honors continue to elevate the event and the impact that it can have in preserving the outdoor spaces that we all enjoy. The Texas Distance challenge will be making its second donation bringing the total donated to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation, its official beneficiary, to $17,500 before the close of 2020.
