Over 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the expo at the end of January as the running community starts their training schedules for the upcoming marathon and half-marathon season. Whether you are a seasoned runner looking to improve on a PB (personal best) or you’re attempting your first 5K, this event is for everyone; and there is no better way to get inspired than hearing from some of the world’s greatest runners and treating yourself to new gear from cool brands.
Inspiration is in abundance
Speakers looking to motivate every day runners include the 4-time Olympic Gold medalist and 4-time World Championship Gold medalist Michael Johnson, ultramarathoner and Barkley marathoner John Kelly plus legendary ultra runner Scott Jurek who has won Badwater, Hardrock Hundred, the Spartathlon and the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Race. Don’t miss Hellah Sidibe, famed for his long running streak of running everyday and running across America, running comedian and local to Boston, Laura Green, host of the Run, Selfie, Repeat podcast and The Badass Lady Gang podcast Kelly Roberts, Boston Marathon and industry legend Dave McGillivray and many others. Other speakers include Molly Sheridan, Erin Short, Team Hoyt, Coree Waltering, David Whelan and many more known faces in the running industry.
Interactive practical advice and products
Brands and features within the expo offer runners expert advice and products to suit individual needs, with lots of taster sessions and workshops including Strength & Conditioning by Danny Dreyer from Chi Running, Yoga for Runners by Deanie the Yogini and sessions from Michael Silva. Visitors can complete sessions in a ChiRunning Clinic, receive soft tissue treatments in The Treatment Zone and event take children to the MyGym Kids Get Active Zone for children to learn strength, balance, coordination, and agility. For those looking for a more relaxing day, visitors can meet other runners the Run Café sponsored by Boston.com. New for 2024, Matrix is the Official Treadmill Partner and will offer tryouts on their state-of-the-art treadmills, The Row House will offer the chance to try out rowing machines and there will be swag at many of the booths in the show.
The B.A.A. will bring ‘The BA.A. Locker Room’ to life in the expo and their booth will feature photo opportunities, the Boston Marathon Trophy, giveaways, a goal setting wall and a space to meet Team B.A.A.
Running shoes are a key part of the show’s offering and to help visitors choose their most suitable footwear, Aetrex are on hand to provide free gait analysis scanning which can provide a full overview of your gait.
An Events Village at the show hosted by RaceRaves will help runners to find their perfect challenge or goal for the year ahead featuring races to suit all abilities. Races organizers include; Clarence DeMar Marathon, Heroes In Transition, Destination Marathons, Outsider Endurance, Rhode Races Events, Greater Lowell Road Runners, Marathon P’tit Train du Nord, New Bedford Half Marathon Race Committee, Inc.
Promotions & Product Launches
New Balance are set to launch a new product at the show, Adidas will be selling Boston Marathon merch on their booth, Puma will bring their full line of running shoes for visitors to try and buy. Skechers Performance will attend the expo for the first time and will offer 25% off footwear plus offer a chance to win a pair of pickleball shoes.
Darn Tough will present a spin the wheel competition at their booth! The prizes include pair of socks, a Darn Tough hat, a friends and family card to get 6 pairs at a discount or a Darn Tough sticker. Tedy’s Team will be handing out giveaways whilst Wahoo Fitness will have swag and demos on their booth. The event poses many opportunities for visitors to get free swag, giveaways and deals for runners.
Soles4Souls will be at the show collecting old running shoes to be redistributed and saving them from going to landfill. If visitors have any running shoes which are no longer needed, they must tie their pairs together and bring them to the show to add them to collection points. Soles4Souls turn unwanted shoes and clothing into opportunity, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use – providing relief, creating jobs and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty.
