The Booger Fund expands to 10 Scholarships

March 25, 2024

Growing program making an impact in youth cycling on a national level

SEATTLE, Wash. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Booger Fund is honored to announce the second year of the 2024 Making a Difference Scholarship, which recognizes student cyclists who are giving back to their communities and organizations they care about. These Scholarships are provided in honor of Michael “Westy” Westover, an avid cyclist who grew up racing bikes and sharing that passion with others. Michael, who was a board member of the junior cycling program Team Booger, also believed in the importance of higher education and the pursuit of lifelong learning. These scholarships continue his legacy of supporting young cyclists and their desire to seek higher education.

“We had an overwhelming response last year and were able to award scholarships to a number of individuals that were making a real impact in their communities by volunteering, coaching, and being a force for good,” states Steve Westover, Executive Director of the Booger Fund. “We want to help offset the rising cost of college education, not only for incoming freshmen but also current college or trade school students. We hope this allows individuals to continue their good work on and off the bike.”

The Making A Difference Scholarship is taking applications from time of publication – Wednesday, March 20th through April 19th, 2024. Each scholarship awarded will be $2,000.
