The Bay Ride Partners with Bike Monkey for 12th Annual Charity Cycling Event
February 15, 2026

SAN FRANCISCO, CA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – LiveTheBay.org has partnered with Bike Monkey, a leading cycling event production company, to produce the 12th Annual Bay Ride on August 29, 2026. The collaboration brings two decades of professional event expertise to the Bay Area’s premier charity ride, where 100% of proceeds directly fund cycling infrastructure and safer streets for all.
Bike Monkey, based in Sonoma County, has built a reputation producing some of North America’s most celebrated cycling events, including Levi’s GranFondo, Truckee Gravel, Rebecca’s Private Idaho, The Bovine Classic, Stetina’s Paydirt, and Tour de Fox benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
“We have sold out for 11 straight years and we knew it was time to bring in professionals who do this for a living,” said Jason Purdy, President of LiveTheBay.org. “We’ve been a scrappy team making it work. Now is the time to refine and professionalize various elements of the experience for our participants. Bike Monkey will deliver that—while we stay focused on our mission: making Bay Area streets safer for everyone.”
Carlos Perez, President of Bike Monkey, added: “The Bay Ride has built something special, a community event with real impact. We’re excited to lend our unique skillset of leading and operating complex events. This will improve the orchestration of The Bay Ride, and result in a more refined, productive, and successful day for everyone involved.”
The Bay Ride’s “Safe Streets” initiative directs all event proceeds to cycling infrastructure improvements throughout the Bay Area. When streets are safer for cyclists, they’re safer for pedestrians and drivers too.
The 2026 event offers two routes: a 135-mile circumnavigation of San Francisco Bay and a 40-mile San Francisco-to-Oakland option. Registration is open at TheBayRide.com.
