“Supersapiens is an important tool to maximize our performance monitoring around the riders. The Supersapiens ecosystem allows us to determine the best fueling strategy for each individual athlete,” said Q36.5’ Pro Cycling Team Head Coach Carlos Tur. “We utilize the insights Supersapiens provides mostly to analyze the response during breakfast and pre-race meal, but it’s also valuable for breaking down the sleep pattern. The majority of our riders have adopted Supersapiens and several have seen interesting results and have since implemented different nutrition strategies.”

Tur more specifically explains how Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team’s performance staff has incorporated Supersapiens into the team’s protocols:

“Primarily, we use Supersapiens to individualize and adjust the pre-race meals in order to control the glycemic curve so the riders don’t have acute lows or highs. Secondly, the Supersapiens ecosystem lets us control the hypoglycemia states during the night to avoid LEA (Low energy availability), which gives us better insights into how each rider is performing during the evening allowing us to adjust the order and periodization of the protein intake before the sleeping cycle to ensure the sleep quality . Finally, Supersapiens data helps us analyze the relationship between the training load and the glycemic control, which we use to decide on the nutrition strategy across during heavy training loads or racing blocs.”

With 13 nationalities represented in the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team’s squad of 24 riders, the team offers an inspiring blend of youth and experience. The team’s mission is to function equally as a springboard for people and talents, and as a means to help communities grow sustainably using the upwards mobility that bikes offer.
