Summer Sets in And IRONMAN Virtual Club Cruises Through July with A Series of New Month-long Challenges

IRONMAN VC offers two VR races, The Weekender and eight single sport monthlong challenges in July to inspire athletes’ everyday fitness goals
TAMPA, Fla. (July 9, 2021) – As summer sets in, the IRONMAN® Virtual Club™(VC™) cruises through July with an exciting set of virtual offerings. So far, the IRONMAN VR All-Terrain Series has celebrated the Flat and Fast races, spotlighted the best Coastal courses, highlighted the best Urban destinations, and revisited the Athlete’s Choice of races on the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3® race circuit. This month IRONMAN VC will highlight some of the best Countryside and Alpine terrains while offering two IRONMAN VR races and continuing its series-inspired challenges to its virtual race schedule.
July’s Line Up:
Starting this week, the IRONMAN Virtual Club will offer two VR races aimed at highlighting some of the best Countryside and Alpine terrains at races across the globe.
- July 8-11 | IRONMAN VR24 (Sprint Distance) – Featured race: IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta
With America’s quickest down-river swim and a bike through rural Augusta, this scenic Southern destination goes through the countryside for one of the fastest IRONMAN 70.3 events on the circuit. Take on IRONMAN VR24 as you prepare for the real thing! For more information visit here.
- July 16-18 | The Weekender
Take a break from VR racing. Instead take on the new Weekender, a 10km run challenge with no upper limit. Athletes are encouraged to make it a part of their training route and get out there. For more information visit here.
- July 22-25 | IRONMAN VR25 (Half Distance) – Featured race: ViewSPORT IRONMAN Lake Placid
One of the longest running events globally, the ViewSPORT IRONMAN Lake Placid provides the quintessential alpine racing experience through upstate New York’s stunning Adirondack Mountains and culminating in the small mountain Village of Lake Placid. Participants in IRONMAN VR25 will have the added benefit of this half-distance VR offering coinciding with the Live race broadcast of ViewSPORT IRONMAN Lake Placid on Sunday, July 25 to participate while viewing the terrain. - 1,300,000 km Athlete Community Challenge: Sign up for this collective community challenge to have all your kilometers contribute to this monthlong community goal. For more information visit here.
- Countryside 150 km: Swim, bike, and/or run 150 km total this month. For more information visit here.
- Countryside 350 km: Swim, bike, and/or run 350 km total this month. For more information visit here.
- Countryside 500 km: Swim, bike, and/or run 500 km total this month. For more information visit here.
- Training Day (1.93 km+ of swimming, biking, and/or running): Swim, bike or run a minimum of 1.93 km. For more information visit here.
- Countryside – Swim: Swim the length of three full-distance swims (7.2 miles/11.6 km) over the course of the month. Choose the how / when / where of your swims, on your schedule. For more information visit here.
- Countryside – Bike: Bike the length of three full-distance bike rides (336 miles/540.74 km) over the course of the month. Choose the how / when / where of your rides, on your schedule. For more information visit here.

IRONMAN VR All-Terrain Series – Countryside & Alpine
The IRONMAN VR All-Terrain Series consists of six months of training-length challenges and virtual races that will take athletes on a tour of the best IRONMAN locales. Each month has focused on a different terrain – with virtual visits to race destinations in different regions within each terrain. Offering three weekday workouts plus one weekend VR race, the IRONMAN VR All-Terrain Series also consists of multiple monthlong challenges. These monthlong challenges allow athletes to chase a certain number of kilometers for the month in whatever sport they like and on their own time.
