October 9, 2020
State Farm joins over 34 Pride organizations for the first-ever LGBTQ+ Pride Stride Virtual Run Supporting National Coming Out Day on Sunday, October 11, 2020
LOS ANGELES & CHICAGO – October 9, 2020 – State Farm has partnered with EnMotive to become a premier sponsor of the inaugural Pride Stride Virtual Run.
More than 34 Pride organizations across the country, from Los Angeles to Des Moines to Washington DC, are uniting to recognize National Coming Out Day on Sunday, October 11, 2020. All race participants will receive a goodie bag featuring a Pride-branded 1/4 zip technical shirt, themed fanny pack, rainbow cuffs, finishers medal, and much more.
“We know the COVID pandemic has impacted Pride celebrations across the country. This sponsorship provides an opportunity for us to come together safely while recognizing and honoring the contributions of the LGBTQ community,” said Michael Trout, State Farm Vice President Human Resources. “At State Farm, we are committed to diversity and inclusion, building safer, stronger communities, and working with others to make this world a better place. Our support of the LGBTQ community through programs and services help ensure all people are valued and treated with respect and dignity.”
The unique aspect of the virtual Pride Stride 5k/10k allows each participant to safely walk, jog or run solo at their own leisure, without needing to worry about massive crowds or a time limit. There is no official route, nor permits required. A portion of each Pride Stride registration fee will benefit a local Pride 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, helping to sustain them and support the work they do for their LGBTQ+ community.
“We are absolutely delighted that a brand as high profile as State Farm is supporting the first ever Pride Stride and is getting involved in what we hope will be a very successful event,” said John Smith, Vice President of Partnerships at EnMotive. “We’re excited to showcase State Farm’s messaging to thousands of participants from over 34 Pride Chapters across the country.”
Registration for the inaugural Pride Stride Virtual Run costs $39.95 and is open at Pridestride.org. As an added bonus to the goodie bag items, State Farm is including an additional Pride item for every participant.
