Elite athletes and everyday Spartans face the desert's ultimate test in Al Wathba, November 20-23, 2025

November 12, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Spartan Beast World Championship comes to the Al Wathba desert, Abu Dhabi on Nov 29th – Dec 1st. A range of obstacles and distances will be available for all while qualified elites will battle it out for glory.

Spartan, the world’s leading endurance sports and wellness brand, is thrilled to announce that the Spartan Beast World Championship will return to the desert for the ultimate test of strength and resilience across the majestic sands of Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi.

In partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the 2024 event will take place from Nov 29th – Dec 1st, and will push all athletes to their limits as they conquer a range of grueling courses amidst the breathtaking dunes of one of the UAE’s most iconic landscapes.

The Challenges:

• Sprint – 5K + 20 Obstacles
• Ladies Only Sprint – 5K + 20 Obstacles
• Super – 10K + 25 Obstacles
• Beast – 21K + 30 Obstacles (Elite and Age Group World Championship)
• Kids Race – 1-3K + Obstacles
• 3K Team Relay (Elite Team Relay Championships)

With the pinnacle of the weekend being the Beast World Championship, Spartan will deploy its full collection of recognisable obstacles across unforgiving terrain, designed to test the physical and mental toughness of competitors from over 50 countries who have already fought their way to qualify. These participants will face a course exposed to the brutal natural elements of the desert alongside Spartan’s signature challenges, concluding with a fire jump finish to determine the worthy winners of the shared prize pot.

With every distance set against the brutal backdrop of Al Wathba’s vast sands, competitors are faced with the harsh reality that only the strong and brave survive the desert.

This year’s event will also feature a vibrant festival area at the heart of the desert, where spectators can experience the excitement of the race, enjoy local entertainment, and explore Spartan’s health and wellness offerings to truly immerse themselves in rich Emirati culture.
