SCOTT’S Cam Jones Wins Unbound 2025

June 2, 2025

Standout performances from Isabel King and Robin Gemperle complemented Jones’ win.

(Emporia, Kansas) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – SCOTT Sports’ athletes delivered a definitive statement at the 2025 UNBOUND Gravel, the world’s premier gravel cycling weekend. Leading the charge through Kansas Flint Hills, New Zealand’s Cameron Jones secured an historic victory in the 200-mile race with a new record for the event’s North Course. At the same time, Isabel King and Robin Gemperle posted standout performances to underscore the strength and versatility of SCOTT’s athlete roster.

A stacked elite men’s field of WorldTour pros, gravel stars, and hungry newcomers lined up with one goal: to write their names into the results of the race dubbed the Super Bowl of gravel. Racing aboard his SCOTT Addict Gravel RC, Cameron Jones crossed the finish line in 8 hours and 37 minutes, setting a new course record and securing a coveted wildcard spot in the six-event, season-long Lifetime Grand Prix. Jones broke away with Simon Pellaud (Tudor Pro Cycling) just 50 miles into the 202.4–mile event and had enough gas in the tank to launch a decisive attack on Highland Hill, the race’s final climb, with less than two miles remaining. Jones rode the final miles solo to claim the win in commanding fashion.

“Going into the race, there’s something to be said for playing it safe, and if I went all in and got caught, I wouldn’t only lose the race, but also the opportunity to be a part of the Lifetime Grand Prix. People were sitting up behind and ahead of me, so I decided to push on. I was very thankful I did,” said Jones.

First held in 2006, UNBOUND has become a true test of endurance, pitting riders and their equipment against the rugged terrain of the Kansas Flint Hills. The 90% off-road course is nothing short of punishing, with rolling gravel roads and steep climbs that expose any weakness in fitness or gear. Add in unpredictable Midwestern weather—scorching heat, sudden storms, and heavy winds—and it’s clear why simply finishing UNBOUND is considered a badge of honor.

In the 350-mile UNBOUND XL event, SCOTT’s Robin Gemperle held his own against the world’s best ultra-distance riders, including last year’s 200-mile winner Lachlan Morton. Known for his strategic depth and stamina, Gemperle’s performance aboard a SCOTT Scale gravel bike earned him the third spot in the event. He will now test his luck at the 2,745–mile Tour Divide mere days after this impressive feat.

Rounding out SCOTT’s impressive weekend podium, Isabel King delivered a tenacious performance that beautifully celebrated her commitment to the sport and her rapidly approaching motherhood. At an astonishing 7 months pregnant, Isabel opted for the 50-mile race and gracefully crossed the finish line first to take the top step on the podium.
